Kratom Types | Which is Best For Me?
How to Decide Which Kratom Types to Use
First-time Kratom users often find it difficult knowing which particular Kratom types they should take. Considering that some vendors offer over a dozen different strains, the task can be daunting. In order to fully understand what it is you are looking for you must first ask yourself what you are trying to get out of your Kratom experience. Are you wanting increased energy and a sense of well-being? Or perhaps you have chronic pain or insomnia? Maybe you are anxious and need help relaxing.
In either case, you are going to need to understand how the Kratom plant is categorized in order to find the right variety. Mitragyna Speciosa (Kratom) is a diverse herb and there are some things to consider when choosing which type is suitable to your needs. The color of the vein, the particular strain name and the form in which the herb is consumed are all factors which must be considered. Lets take a closer look into these areas.
What Vein Color is most Appropriate?
When you hear terms like white vein, red vein, and green vein, they are referring to the color of the the stem and vein (the line running through the center) of the actual Kratom leaf. Each color of Kratom vein is characteristic of different effects and represents a different strain of the plant.
Red vein Kratom is commonly used to treat pain and is known for its relaxing properties. White vein strains are considered the most energetic and can provide extreme focus and concentration. Green vein strains fall somewhere in the middle and can be both relaxing and stimulating.
What Kratom Strain Should I Use?
Kratom strain names are based on the geographic origin of the plant that is being categorized. Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia are the three main countries from which Kratom comes, so it is common to hear Kratom strains named after them. Thai, Indo, Malay, Bali, Borneo and other such names are used extensively by Kratom vendors.
Each particular strain produces varying effects. Some are very stimulating while others are more sedating by nature, but most Kratom strains will have similarities in effects. The subtleties of each strain must be felt out on an individual basis as each person will react a little differently to each one.
Method of Consumption
The particular formulation of the herb is also an important consideration that must be made. Choices include whole leaf Kratom, raw powder, capsules, or extracts. Extracts can come in the form of liquid tinctures, resins or enhanced Kratom powder.
Raw powder is the most common form of consumption due to its availability, relative low price and ease of use. Capsules are a good alternative for people that don’t like the unpleasant taste of raw powder although the number of capsules that constitute an effective dose can be many. Whole leaf Kratom is goof for making teas but is not as widely available as the aforementioned methods.
Generally, Kratom extracts are best left to experienced users. These products can have very strong effects and have a higher risk for misuse.
Things to Keep in Mind…
It should be noted that the general effects of the Kratom plant will transcend the effects of an individual strain to a certain extent. This means that many of the same benefits can be experienced from the use of different strains. While each strain is unique in its own way, they are all similar in nature.
Often times the best thing for beginners to do is to buy a Kratom variety pack. This allows them to experience the effects of different Kratom types and can help introduce a new user to the different options available to them.
Have a distinct goal and purpose when using this plant and you will be well versed in Kratom types soon enough. As always, use high quality Kratom products to achieve the best results.
